A large-scale National Orchestra concert honoring Daxing's achievements and contribution in constructing the new airport was performed at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing on October 22, 2019.

The concert was jointly hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Daxing District People's Government and the Beijing performing arts group, and jointly organized by the Beijing Traditional Orchestra and Publicity Department of the People's Government of Daxing District of Beijing.

Titled "Looking forward to Daxing's future as a New Gate," the concert featured six chapters. Three soloists and a chorus of Chinese famous singers used Mandarin lyrics to tell the story of Daxing's significant historical contribution.

The chorus, supported by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, consisted of over 80 people on the stage. It performed a significant part of the concert titled "the great prosperity of the country," a highlight of the event depicting Daxing's future prospects.

The four-movement piece featured a well-known Chinese folk song, "Ripples Shine".

The concert conveyed a deep sense of reverence for Daxing's efforts in development and construction, and the orchestra through its performance demonstrated its dedication to the legacy of Beijing.

Taking the new airport as the starting point, the concert introduced Daxing's history, described Beijing's new look and eulogized China in the new era, paying tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The renowned Xu Zhijun directed the performance.

The concert was staged "to amplify realistic themes and the voices of Daxing" with collaborated efforts of Beijing in the new airport project, and showed the profound connotation of China's prosperity with brilliant national orchestral music and choral singing.

The concert featured another concerto for orchestra in which pigeon whistles and bells were used to convey the scenery in Beijing. In addition, story-telling in Beijing dialect with drum accompaniment and rhythmic storytelling to clapper accompaniment were presented in song, with musical accompaniment added.

Titled "The First Capital under Heaven", the latter work was inspired by Beijing local musical styles which describe people's spirits throughout history.
