The signing ceremony of the promotion conference for the China (Hebei) pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was held on November 13, 2019 in Shanghai.

The China (Hebei) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), one of China's six new FTZs, covers four areas, including the Xiong’an New Area, Zhengding, Caofeidian, and Beijing Daxing International Airport, and was inaugurated on August 26.

The Daxing Airport Area of the Hebei Pilot FTZ, at 20 square kilometers, will mainly house international business trade in aviation logistics, aviation service, life and health care, technology innovation, and exhibitions and conference. It will give full play to innovation policies and provide financial service to boost industrial development and serve as a demonstration area for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In addition, the area will work on the investment management system, trade development mode, and financial services and will eventually be a motivator for the area's internationalization and opening-up.

The Daxing Management Committee Office of the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone signed strategic cooperation agreements with six enterprises, including Greenland Commerce and Trade, HNA Cold Chain, CyberLink, Shanghai Qiji, Qianrun Shangjia, and Yuanmai Qihang, with the intention investment amount reaching 4.6 billion yuan (about $655 million) at the promotion conference.

The total area of the newly launched Hebei pilot FTZ is nearly 119.97 square kilometers. One of its parts, the Daxing airport area covers 19.97 square kilometers.

To further deepen the coupling development of the airport economic zone and the free trade zone, the Daxing airport area will launch leading projects such as the comprehensive bonded zone, international shopping town, international health center and convention center to promote international, high-end, and innovative development of a service-oriented free trade pilot zone.

The State Council, China's cabinet, announced on August 26 a plan to set up six new FTZs in Shandong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Yunnan and Heilongjiang provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
