In order to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Women's Federation of Daxing District and Linxiao road community launched a publicity campaign against domestic violence in Daxing on Nov 25. The event was themed on fighting against domestic violence and building a harmonious family .

Zhuang Weihua, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of Women's Federation of Daxing District, and Sun Chunhong, member of Leading Party Members' Group of Women's Federation of Daxing District, were present at the event.

At the activity, women federation’s staff publicized the anti-domestic violence laws, related knowledge, and the methods to deal with domestic violence.

Leaflets, brochures  and other publicity materials about anti-domestic violence were distributed to raise the anti-domestic awareness and ability of the masses.

Women's Federation of Daxing District has stepped up its efforts to draw attention to the domestic violence problem.

The UN General Assembly in 2000 officially designated Nov 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

According to the latest UN figures, violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today, with one in three women and girls having experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, most frequently by an intimate partner.
