Local authorities in Daxing district are expected to build 16 municipal-level "demonstration villages" in 2020. The villages are to be built in line with the "Special Plan for Implementing the Strategy of Promoting the Construction of Beautiful Rural Areas (2018-2020)".

The construction of beautiful villages is the first task in the promotion of the modernization of agriculture and urban renewal. Throughout 2019, the living environment of farmers in Daxing's rural areas has been greatly improved.

About 1.64 million square meters of unlicensed private buildings and occupied streets have been demolished in 357 villages in Daxing district.

Furthermore, about 737 public toilets and 50,000 thousand household toilets in rural areas of Daxing district were upgraded, and sewage pipelines in 44 villages completed construction.

Before the renovation of rural residential areas, sewage and garbage were dumped in many public spaces.

Now, new sewage pipelines have been laid in the villages and garbage is cleaned up daily.

The rural residential environment of these villages in Daxing has been effectively improved.

Daxing district will further develop the potential of village industries, explore traditional culture, and integrate the rural residential resources. It will improve industries such as rural accommodation and rural nursing homes, and deepen the combination of rural culture and folk tourism to promote industries such as agriculture, tourism, leisure and the creative culture sector.

At the same time, Daxing district will improve village infrastructure and start planning the remaining 83 villages, making the total number of beautiful villages to 313.

The construction of "demonstration villages" in 16 villages at the municipal level will promote the efforts in building beautiful villages in Daxing district.

Daxing district has started infrastructure improvement projects in waste disposal, safe drinking water, roads, and tree planting in 142 villages.
