Daxing steps up efforts to curb epidemic spread

In response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, Daxing district is stepping up measures to help combat and control the highly infectious disease.

The district has been striving to solve citizens’ epidemic-related appeals within two hours, in order to fulfill its policy of "instant responses to appeals".

To detect cases of possible infection among citizens, Daxing has implemented prevention and control measures and made efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus at community level.

For those who recently returned to the Xihongmen community in Beijing's Daxing district - currently in necessary isolation for medical observation - the community proactively contacted the local branch of the Beijing gas company. Following community coordination, the gas company brought the ‘Beijing gas intelligent card terminal’ to the community to enable the quarantined people to complete the purchase of gas without leaving home.

“At present, there are about 400 epidemic-related appeal cases every day in Daxing district,” said Wu Kunxiang, director of the command center of the immediate response office in Daxing district. “During the period of combating the highly infectious disease, we have launched the ‘instant response to appeal’ service, addressing people's epidemic-related needs within two hours. The ordinary cases should be dealt with in no more than six hours and finished in no more than 18 hours. The handling rate of the cases has reached 100 percent. A review will also be conducted to supervise the settlement on the same day, helping to respond to people's appeals with accurate and practical measures.”
