Following government suggestions for avoiding gatherings to curb further infection, the ongoing public health crisis has made it impossible for universities to start traditional public activities, such as on-campus events.

Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, located in Daxing district of Beijing, has taken a series of steps for epidemic prevention and control. The university has built an emergency command information platform for "accurate control, scientific policy implementation, multi group linkage and rapid response".

The scientific and technological prevention and control system, based on information technology such as "mobile cloud computing", has played an important role for the precise campus prevention and control of the epidemic.

The university developed the "daily report system for health status of teachers and students" to realize real-time dynamic monitoring, collection and analysis of epidemic prevention and control data.

The daily manual report has been replaced by reporting on the system, and administrators only need easy operation to realize one-stop data statistics management from reporting to checking and summarizing.

The school will import all data related to epidemic prevention and control into the school’s central database for real-time updating and provision of data support for epidemic prevention and control.

It is important to conduct precise control of people entering and leaving the campus. The Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture has designed and developed a three-colored health code and implemented dynamic "green code, yellow code and red code" management to prepare for the needs of managing students back to school in the future.

The three-colored health code indicates the health status of an individual. Those who have a green code may gain entry to the school. Those who have a yellow code will be quarantined for seven days, and obtain the green code after declaring a normal health status for seven days in a row. Those who have a red code will be quarantined for 14 days, and will obtain a green code after declaring a normal health status for 14 days in a row. When teachers and students go in and out of the campus, canteen, teaching area, family area and other areas, they only need to show the green code".

The university’s information technology prevention and control system, based on "mobile cloud computing" and other information technologies, give full play to the school’s advantageous disciplines and scientific research.
