Beijing’s Daxing district has thoroughly advanced nucleic acid testing in medium- and high-risk areas, focusing on key groups in epidemic prevention and control, to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) through precise and differentiated measures.

Ten groups of people were listed as major priorities, such as those who work in catering, at a supermarket or in transportation fields.

The elderly and expectant mothers have been provided with door-to-door service, and a second test conducted for those who have visited Xinfadi wholesale farm-produce market or had close contact with the market’s staff since May 30.

As of 24:00 on June 26, the district had tested1.65 million residents.

A leading group was set up to clarify the overall schedule and division of specific responsibilities, and 319 working groups were dispatched into 150 sampling stations throughout the area.

In addition, there have been 10 steering groups to carry out on-site guidance and supervise the strict implementation of one meter spacing in line, temperature measurement and disinfection.

The district allows local residents to undergo nucleic acid tests at staggered times. In the process, digital health certificates contribute to information registration.

Sampling sites were chosen in view of supplementary needs, temperature and commuting constrictions, and to ensure that single-line circulation and independent operation would guarantee avoidance of cross-infection.

Each worker was equipped with a protective suit, gloves, goggles, and N95 masks, and each place is disinfected more than three times a day. Sprinklers and fog guns are used to conduct regular ground air cooling.
