New medical imaging tech put into use in Daxing

Updated: 2020-09-04

Beijing Daxing District People’s Hospital recently launched a self-service recording system for medical image data, which has been well-received among doctors and patients.

In the past, patients often selected less than one-tenth of all the radiology department pictures to be printed on film, and the reduced accuracy of data transmission would affect the efficiency of diagnosis. Moreover, traditional films are expensive and can only record small, fixed pictures. The film is also easily damaged and awkward to carry.

A new medical digital image management method, the self-service system can automatically scan codes and retrieve and burn disks without manual operation, avoiding people-to-people contact and shortening wait times for patients.

The system makes up for traditional films’ limitations. It reflects original examination conditions and obtains all the information from current examinations. It can even mark post-processing graphics or videos for offering clinicians a more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of image information.

Meanwhile, there is no need to install software to browse the image data. Just insert the CD-ROM into a computer, and patients will get their results.

The burning system is equipped with top-quality CDs that have high compatibility and lots of memory space. The discs are also scratch-resistant and anti-blotting, making them convenient for patients to carry to follow-up visits and referrals.

The system has addressed the traditional film's shortcomings, saving costs and providing a new digitalized information construction in the hospital.
