The Daxing branch of the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and a themed salon were held in Beijing’s Daxing district on Sept 8, attracting more than 100 guests from home and abroad.

Sponsored by the Daxing district government and the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), the salon aimed to highlight the first-class business environment and excellent development potential of southern Beijing’s Daxing.

Zhou Liyun, the district’s Party Secretary, emphasized coordinated development, institutional and technological innovation and also international cooperation in his speech. He suggested building a global industrial chain and value chain, further exploring opening-up and adhering to openness and inclusiveness.

CAEFI’s executive vice president, Cao Hongying, said that Daxing is becoming an international innovation hot spot by fostering the free trade zone and the China-Japan cooperation demonstration zone. He added that the district is fully utilizing the logistics advantages offered by Beijing Daxing International Airport.

According to Cao, CAEFI will continue to work with the district government to promote international service trade cooperation in a new round of opening up.

At the event, the district signed agreements with many enterprises and organs, including ORIX Group, Japan’s largest comprehensive financial service group, JD, a large-scale e-commerce platform, as well as Watson Biology and CSPC Holdings, leading companies in the domestic new vaccine and pharmaceutical sector.

The contracted parties expressed their intent to deepen integration and discussion with the district, helping it become a pioneer area leading the high-quality development of Beijing, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the country at large.

At the ceremony for the expert advisory committee, nine specialists received letters of appointment. They are expected to provide intellectual support regarding policy and industry development for the Beijing Sino-Japan Cooperation Demonstration Zone.

Guests at the event also took part in an in-depth discussion during a roundtable forum.
