Enterprises gather in Daxing to increase innovation, cooperation

Beijing's Daxing district held an investment promotion meeting on Dec 7 to attract well-known domestic and foreign companies to settle in the district and to develop itself into a frontier of the capital's opening to the world.

Over 200 business leaders and experts were welcomed by the sponsors – the Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center (BIPSC) and the local government.

Zhou Xu, director of the BIPSC, pledged to assist in solving the difficulties encountered in corporate investment and to jointly promote implementation of high-quality projects.

The district's chief Wang Youguo gave sincere invitations to the established corporations to investigate and invest in Daxing, a "promised land" with focuses on opening-up, technical innovation and institutional reform.

During the event, Yang Beibei, deputy head of the district, noted that the capital city has been engaged in building the Beijing Free Trade Zone and a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector.

With preferential policies of the "two zones", Daxing will strengthen collaboration between the Beijing China-Japan Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the Beijing e-commerce center, a national new media industry base and a biomedical industry cluster to boost local emerging finance, aviation services, scientific and technological services, professional services, commerce, culture and tourism, and international education.

In the keynote speech session, experts Zhang Jifeng, executive vice president of the Chinese Association for Japanese Economic Studies, and Zhang Yi, deputy general manager of the Nomura Research Institute (Shanghai), analyzed the prospects and opportunities of China-Japan economic and trade cooperation at national and industrial levels.

According to the speakers there is great potential for China-Japan economic and trade cooperation after the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Daxing airport, a "new growth engine for national development", and the Beijing China-Japan Innovation &Cooperation Demonstration Zone can be used to facilitate the flow of factors of production and to foster an international industrial chain and innovative model for regional cooperation in East Asia.

Also, representatives of investment provider Aeon Mall (China) and pioneer of rare earth magnetic materials Magvalley Technology gave speeches indicating that Daxing has become the first choice for entrepreneurs investing in the capital, who will strive for in-depth integration and win-win cooperation with the district.
