Three consortia win urban design bids for Daxing airport area

Three consortia of world-class design & planning teams from home and abroad won the bid to design a functional area of convention & exhibition and consumption in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone (BDIAEZ).

The administrative committee of the BDIAEZ kicked off an international solicitation activity for urban design & planning proposals in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources and the government of Daxing district on Nov 30, 2022.

The event brought together over 50 planning and design teams from all over the world.

Final winners of the international solicitation activity were: No. B01 proposal by China Academy of Urban Planning & design, M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc of the US, the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and British Darrenn Group Limited, No. B03 proposal by China Architecture Design & Research Group, Tongji Architectural Design Group, Fuksas Architecture S.R.L. of France and Beijing Municipal Engineering Research Institute, and No. B05 proposal by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, British Aedas Asia Limited and AECOM Design & Consulting (Shenzhen) Co.
