The Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone (Daxing) formally unveiled an online platform for international data cooperation, compliance, coding and registration at the Digital Future · Forum on High-quality Development of the Next-Generation Software Industry, a side event of the Global Digital Economy Conference 2023, in Beijing on July 5.

The online platform was jointly launched by Beijing's Daxing airport economic zone and the School of Software and Microelectronics at Peking University on the basis of advanced data switching service network (DSSN) technology, which was developed by Peking University's Research Center for Data to Cyberspace.

So far, the online platform has granted licenses to three pilot enterprises, providing them support in the lawful participation of cross-border data business.

During an interview, an official with Peking University's School of Software and Microelectronics said that the school has worked together with the Daxing airport economic zone to explore two-way cross-border data collaboration on the basis of technical strength, and has utilized its core technologies related to DRs and its fingerprint database in the building of the online platform.

After obtaining approval from the online platform, relevant enterprises will receive universal registration documents, enabling them to become fully involved in cross-border data flow. In addition, the online platform will help firms concerned set up technological tracing and managerial systems connected with cross-border data flow, bolster their self-compliance capabilities, and guarantee the smooth operation of their international data business.

In the years ahead, the Daxing airport economic zone will redouble its efforts to promote platform building for data security and governance, international data cooperation, compliance, coding and registration, and will create a sound business environment for local enterprises in their participation of global data economic and trade affairs amid the building of a data port.
