The Future Transportation R&D Center and Industrial Renewal Base project has broken ground in Liangjiang New Area. With a total investment of approximately 560 million yuan ($79.20 million), the project will unfold in two phases.
Phase 1 is dedicated to establishing the National Key Laboratory for Bridge Engineering Safety and Resilience, which will focus on studying the dynamic responses of bridge structures to seismic activity, wind, and impact forces.
It will also focus on developing intelligent detection and monitoring systems, as well as technologies for long-term performance assurance, aiming to conduct applied basic research, develop analytical software, and create equipment for structural testing and intelligent operation and maintenance.
Phase 2 will create R&D centers focused on digital transportation, energy conservation, environmental protection, low-carbon lighting, and polymer materials.
