Customs clearance procedures simplified for Expo

| chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2019-09-06

Yinchuan Customs has launched special passes services for the China-Arab States Expo, opened in Yinchuan, capital of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Sept 5 and will last until Sept 8, to facilitate fast clearance of goods, materials and personnel.

The services include special customs window and special customs pass for the expo. The pass was effective on August 28.

The Expo is the first global event held in Yinchuan after the reform of the city's customs system. It has been offered convenient clearance procedures and regulatory models.

The local customs authority has streamlined and optimized inspection and clearance procedures, and specified customs requirements on materials filing, declaration of imported materials, exhibited item approval procedures and destination specifications, and staff and personal items.

It also provided overseas exhibitors with detailed instructions to ensure smooth implementation of customs policies.

Under an integrated clearance model, the expo executive committee or its designated logistics company provided centralized tariff guarantees to reduce burdens on overseas exhibitors.

Overseas exhibitors or their designated transport service providers are able to go through clearance procedures with the certificates of imported materials for the Fourth China-Arab States Expo issued by the Expo’s executive committee. This approach is intended to improve clearance efficiency.

Regarding the guaranty model for the interim imported exhibition items, Yinchuan Customs supports free choice of the taxation guaranty models. It also encourages companies to adopt the customs-house bonds insurance guaranty, which will help relieve companies from high financing burdens, according to a staff member with Yinchuan Customs.
