Ningxia holds meeting to boost international logistics cooperation

The International Logistics Cooperation Meeting at the Fourth China-Arab States Expo was held in Yinchuan city, capital of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Sept 5. The meeting focused on the theme of boosting international logistics cooperation and reducing the logistics cost of enterprises.

The meeting provided the government agencies of Belt and Road countries, as well as their logistics associations, logistics companies and industry experts with an opportunity for exchanges and cooperation in the logistics sector.

More than 500 representatives from governments, logistics associations, logistics enterprises in aviation, railways, highways, ports, shipping, and manufacturing enterprises across China attended the meeting.

Ningxia features unique geographical advantages in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, thus it serves as an important hub for economic and trade cooperation between China and the Arab countries.

The logistics industry in the region has made great progress in recent years, with the overall logistics cost declining. From 2011 to 2018, the ratio of the total cost of logistics to GDP in Ningxia decreased by 13 percentage points, and the number of logistics enterprises above A level has reached 48.

Ningxia signed cooperation agreements with domestic and foreign logistics companies at the meeting.

As an open cooperation platform, the meeting will boost China and the Arab countries to increase international cooperation in logistics, economic and trade capacities under the framework of BRI.
