Intl commodity expo opens to deepen sister cities ties


The International Sister Cities Commodity Exposition opens in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province on Oct 15. [Photo provided to]


Covering an area of nearly 4,000 square meters, the three-day expo displays a wide range of commodities including cosmetics, food, arts and crafts, tourism products, household necessities and agricultural products from sister cities. [Photo provided to]


A total of 27 international sister cities form from 17 countries and regions participated in the event. [Photo provided to]


The fair sets up 40 booths meeting international standards and booths for five countries – Germany, Russia, Australia, Thailand, and South Korea, which are decorated to present diversified cultures and customs. [Photo provided to]


Featured products from Jinan as well the cities of Jining, Weihai, Rizhao and Heze are also displayed at the Shandong booth in an effort to showcase Shandong's culture to foreign guests. [Photo provided to]


As part of the Shandong International Friendship Cities Conference for Cooperation and Development, the event aims to further enhance exchange between Jinan and its sister cities, deepen international cooperation, and facilitate the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. To date, Jinan has 27 sister cities in 25 countries and regions around the world as well as 51 friendship cooperation cities in 28 countries. [Photo provided to]
