Hohhot carries torch for national winter games

The torch relay of the 14th National Winter Games arrived in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 22. A total of 55 people from all walks of life served as torchbearers for the event.
The torch relay in Hohhot started at Ruyi Square and stretches for five kilometers.

Local authorities have also held fitness activities and cultural performances at Ruyi Square, as well as at the end point of the relay, which attracted many participants and spectators.
The 14th National Winter Games will begin on Feb 16, 2020 in Hulunbuir, and is the first large comprehensive sporting event to be hosted by Inner Mongolia in over 70 years. The games will also be the most significant winter sporting event held in China before the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
