According to local media reports, construction on the main venues for the 14th National Winter Games in Hulunbuir, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is being carried out in two phases. By the beginning of July, all construction projects had been basically completed, aside from some outdoor projects and the basement of the media center, and 96.6 percent of construction had been completed.
The main venue for the Winter Games covers an area of 183,000 square meters, with a total building area of 96,000 square meters. It is the first ice sports stadium in the region that can host international A-level contests and major domestic events such as speed skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, curling, and figure skating.
