The construction of the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base got into full swing as its groundbreaking ceremony was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on June 6.

The base will be cultivated into a model of a future city that integrates a global headquarters gathering area, a metropolitan cultural highland, an international exchange center and a world-class coastal city parlor.

With preliminary planning and design work finished, its 13 social investment projects moved into a comprehensive construction stage. Its powerhouse headquarters will include China Merchants Bank, Digital China, OPPO International, iCarbonX, China Electronics and Vanke.

The total fixed asset investment in the area is estimated to be about 300 billion yuan ($42.24 billion). As of the end of April, 47 billion yuan of the investment had been placed.

The central green axis project, planned to be closed by 2025, is expected to show the symbiotic beauty between humanity and a city as well as humanity and nature, and bring a fresh comfortable leisure experiences to residents.

The underground space covers 120,000 square meters and drew investment totaling 9.5 billion yuan. After completion, the area will have a six-track six-station super integrated hub with large public services, commercial and cultural facilities.

The reconstruction of Binhai Avenue will help to link the central green axis with Shenzhen Bay Park, creating a 1.2 km sea-to-sea interface and becoming an important urban parlor for celebrations, world-class cultural activities, sports and leisure and other functions.

It will use advanced concepts and scientific and technological facilities to build itself into a dynamic, livable, beautiful, smart and cultural city.
