With a mission of supporting implementation of innovation-based development strategies and driving economic and social development, the National Communication Center for Science and Technology , CAST is dedicated to promoting technical outcome circulation and transfer, academic exchanges and technical cooperation on cutting-edge technologies in and outside of China.

It supports science culture and leading scientists, and its roles and responsibilities include:

1. To establish a "National Science and Technology Communication Center", and to manage daily operations and maintenance of the center when constructed;

2. To establish a science and technology outcome exhibition and transfer service platform and national "dual start-up" service platform that promotes circulation and transfer of key technical outcomes and innovation and serves development of start-ups and strategic emerging industries and upgrading of conventional ones;

3. To establish a service platform for academic exchanges by seeking communication regarding the latest tech information, research outcomes and academic developments, promoting academic innovation, and driving disciplinary development and integration;

4. To establish a "China Scientist Museum" to promote leading scientists, the scientific spirit and innovation-led culture;

5. To establish a science education IT platform that manages and supports informationized science education through data storage, standard research and development, demonstrative R&D projects, product clustering, testing and assessment, and operation monitoring.
