Yantai Mountain Scenic Spot is blessed with stunning ocean vistas, cultural relics and Western-style architecture. The name "Yantai" was derived from the defensive beacon towers which were built in the mountains by soldiers during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). As time went by, the mountain became known as Yantai Mountain.

Home to a number of consulates and memorial halls built for notable residents of the city, the mountain is much more than a scenic spot for locals. These days, visitors can still see the beautiful scenery of the city from the mountain. It represents the past, present, and future of Yantai.
