Zhang Zhicheng delivered a keynote speech on the theme of "Strengthening IP Protection and Boosting High-quality Economic Development" at the 17th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum.
He pointed out that China attached great importance to the protection of intellectual property. While unswervingly controlling and preventing COVID-19, China had promoted the resumption of work and production in an orderly manner, constantly strengthening the protection of IP rights and making every effort to promote high-quality economic development, he said. Zhang said that in future CNIPA, together with other interested bodies, would continue to promote strict, extensive, fast and equal protection of intellectual property.
He also discussed the latest best practice in IP protection in China.

Zhang Zhicheng holds a doctorate of law from Peking University. In 1995, he began to work in the former China Patent Administration. He previously worked as the Deputy Party Secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Patent Administration and was Deputy Director General and the Director General of the Protection and Coordination Department in CNIPA. He is currently Director General of the IP Protection Department of CNIPA.
