Forum convenes on IP Judicial protection

The 2020 ECUPL International Intellectual Property Forum – a sub-forum of the 17th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum which opened on Oct 20 – was held in the East China University of Political Science and Law, or ECUPL, in the city of Shanghai on Oct 22.

The forum, which was co-organized by ECUPL and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration – or SIPA -- aimed to explore judicial innovations in trade secrets protection in the context of new science and technology.

Rui Wenbiao, director general of SIPA and Zhou Lizhi, vice-principal of ECUPL, attended and addressed the forum.

Rui stressed in his speech that strengthening IP protection was a strategic necessity to enhance the city's core competitiveness and a key incentive to promote high-quality economic development in the post novel coronavirus epidemic era.

Zhou said that ECUPL would make the forum a starting point to gradually deepen its cooperation with all walks of life, further improve its IP discipline level and make contributions to IP development in China.

Representatives from the Supreme People's Court, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Shanghai High People's Court, the Shanghai People's Procuratorate and other key institutions attended the forum.
