High tech helps apple orchard increase production

 A group of expats paid a visit to an apple planting center in Yantai on Oct 28 to experience the city's booming apple industry.

The apple planting center is operated by the Haolin Fruit Cooperative founded in 2016 in Guojia village, Penglai district.

The cooperative has an annual output of 18,000 tons of high-quality apples and makes use of modern technology.

It is equipped with an internet of things system for its plantation and offers product tracing as well as high-quality product testing. It also uses technology for planting, irrigating, and adjusting soil quality.

Haolin has also developed a modern apple planting demonstration center, which is currently a supplier for Shenzhen Pagoda Industrial Group, a well-known fruit vendor in China.
