Between 2014 and 2019, the GDP of Xinjiang increased from 919.59 billion yuan ($142.35 billion) to 1,359.71 billion yuan, an average annual growth of 7.2%. There has been a continuous optimization of its industrial structure and improvements to its infrastructure, and all prefectures and cities in the region have been connected to expressways.
