Radical changes in Xinjiang over the years

In 2014, Xinjiang registered a total of 779,000 low income households and 3.09 million low income people, 3,666 poverty-stricken villages, and 32 poverty-stricken counties. As of 2019, a total of 2.92 million people, 3,107 villages and 22 counties in Xinjiang have been lifted out of poverty. The poverty rate has dropped from 19.4% in 2014 to 1.24%.
