Coloplast China wins CSR Industry Model Award at the 10th China Charity Festival
Coloplast China received the CSR Industry Model Award for its outstanding performance in the fight against COVID-19 at the award ceremony of the 10th China Charity Festival on January 29, 2021.
In early 2020, when COVID-19 first broke out, frontline medical staff had to immediately adapt to wearing masks and goggles, among other protective equipment, for untold stretches of time, leading to pressure ulcers on the forehead, cheeks, bridge of the nose and ears, as well as skin ulcers and other concurrent infections. As a long-term partner and strong supporter of anyone and everyone working in healthcare, Coloplast China immediately donated 2 million yuan worth of wound care and first aid supplies including hydrocolloid dressings, silicone foam dressings and adhesive remover wipes to more than 60 designated hospitals in Hubei Province, helping to give their staff peace of mind.
Coloplast China also actively advocates for the cause of the disabled in China. At the end of 2019, the firm, together with the China Foundation for Disabled Persons and the China Association of Persons with Physical Disability (CAPPD), established the National Spinal Cord Injury Care Alliance, which includes as members medical institutions, clinical societies specializing in spinal cord injury, clinical and nursing professionals and patient organizations, Through a series of activities, the alliance tirelessly campaigns for the implementation of protocols for clinical discipline around spinal cord injury, the enhancement of patient education and social awareness as well as the furthering of the development of social security policies, in a move to help Chinese patients with spinal cord injury rebuild their lives and return to society. During the lockdown of Wuhan due to the epidemic, in a move to assist patients with spinal cord injury in resolving their day-to-day challenges as well as difficulties in obtaining proper care, Coloplast China donated more than 600,000 yuan worth of intermittent catheters to such patients in Wuhan, as part of the charity drive launched by the alliance, CAPPD and Beijing Xin Qidian Foundation.
