4th Goji Berry Industry Expo to be held in Zhongning in June
A press conference was held in Yinchuan, capital city of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on May 26 to unveil the logos for branding of local goji berry production areas and to introduce the preparatory work of the 4th Goji Berry Industry Expo.
Wang Zixin, Deputy Director of Ningxia Forestry and Grassland Administration, said at the press conference that the expo was scheduled for Zhongning county from June 22 to 24.
Zhongning was designated as China's goji berry hometown by the State Council in 1995. Local goji berries are one of top five specialty foods in Ningxia and have become an important Chinese herbal medicine.
The county has won a number of national and provincial honors over the past few decades such as a Top 10 Chinese County (City) with the Most Attractive Investment Prospects, a National Pilot Demonstration County for the Comprehensive Development of Rural Industries, a National Pilot County for Basic Public Sports Services and a National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base (Goji berry Products).
The 4th Goji Berry Industry Expo, whose theme is defined as green, innovation, branding and health, will be held both online and offline.
The online events, which are expected to be staged by means of live broadcasts and thematic videos, are designed to further increase the popularity of branded local goji berries in the market.
Offline activities will consist of achievements-oriented exhibitions, keynote speeches by academicians and experts, release ceremonies of scientific developments, harvesting seasons, news briefings of new goji berry products and investment promotion and purchasers' meetings during which participants from home and abroad will discuss putting forward their proposals for the high-quality growth of the modern goji berry industry.
According to organizers, a total of 17 separate activities will be held during the 4th Goji Berry Industry Expo, including nine warm-up events and eight thematic activities.
