Baizhang Peak Scenic Area is located about 35 kilometers southeast of Xinyu, Jiangxi province and is at the junction of Yushui district, Xingan county, as well as Xiajiang county.

In 1993, the scenic area was rated as a provincial forest park. Covering a total area of 42.9 square kilometers, it has forests spanning 2,079 hectares, with a forest coverage rate surpassing 90 percent. The average number of negative oxygen ions in the air in the scenic area reaches more than 10,000/cm³.

Baizhang Peak has an average temperature of 17.8 degrees Celsius in recent years. From July to August, the temperature stands at 28.6 degrees Celsius, making it an ideal place in Jiangxi to escape the summer heat.

Buddhism and Taoism have flourished in the scenic area since ancient times, with a wealth of poems and paintings created by renowned literati like Ge Hong, Zhu Xi, Yue Fei, and Huang Tingjian after visiting the place.
