Two important achievements were celebrated by the RECTIC. One is the launch of the Education Governance and Leadership series under the general editorship of Professor Wang Dinghua, BFSU Council Chairman. The other is the unveiling of Global Country-Specific Translation Capacity Index and the Chinese Universities' Translation Capacity Index by Professor Ren Wen, Chief Expert of the RECTIC and Dean of the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation of BFSU.

The RECTIC is China's first research institute focused on country-specific translation capacity. It seeks to converge the quality resources of translation disciplines and majors from within and outside of BFSU, both at home and abroad, and build a top-notch research team of multi-lingual strength. In the context of New Liberal Arts, the RECTIC plans to conduct cutting-edge, interdisciplinary and signature studies, and produce landmark research results. It will bolster BFSU's efforts in building a "world-class university with world-class disciplines", and cement the discourse system of translation theories with Chinese characteristics. It will also support Beijing's role as China's center for international exchange, and boost China's translation capacity and cultural soft power. Going forward, the RECTIC will provide intellectual support for major national strategies, including the going global of Chinese culture, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
