Profile of Yulin
Yulin city is located in the northernmost part of Northwest China's Shaanxi province. It has jurisdiction over two districts and nine counties, with a registered population of approximately 3.86 million and a land area of about 43,000 sq km.

The landform is roughly bounded by the Great Wall, north of which are the sandy grasslands, and to the south of which people will find the hilly and gully area, accounting for 58 percent of the total area.
Yulin is rich in energy resources. Forty-eight types of minerals across eight categories have been discovered here, with a potential value of more than 46 trillion yuan ($7.09 trillion).
Notably, the city's coal reserve is predicted to be 280 billion tons, and the Shenfu Coalfield is one of the seven largest coalfields in the world.
The city is listed among the national historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council. Key cultural relics include the Zhenbei Terrace of the the Great Wall, Hongshi Valley, the ancient Tongwan City, the Taoist building Baiyun Temple, and the Provisional Palace of General Li Zicheng.
Yulin is located at the junction of three provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, and the two autonomous regions of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. Its total mileage of expressways ranks first in the province. Train and air services are well run and extensive, providing links to all over the country.
