The number of high-tech enterprises and provincial science and technology medium and small-sized companies now exceeds 500 and 1,500, respectively.
From January to June this year, 70 percent of major planned innovative projects were completed. During the period, the added value of the new and high-tech industry increased by 29.5 percent, R&D spending by industrial enterprises of a designated size increased by 44 percent and investment in the new and high-tech industry increased by 55.3 percent.
It is understood that the city will continue to make efforts to build an innovation consortium, an intellectual property alliance and a generic technology platform. It will also aim to reduce the costs of company scientific and technological innovation, as well as build a scientific and technological innovations enterprise cluster.
Ruian has also implemented a number of recruitment policies involving attractive bonuses, among other things. The city has introduced 11,000 graduates and 24 doctors this year.
