The 4th CIIE is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Nov 5-10 this year.
The freighter had sailed from Japan's Tokuyama Port, carrying two containers of udon noodles, ice cream, instant noodles, pasta and other foods from Japanese exhibitor ISE Foods Inc.
The Waigaoqiao Border Inspection Station knew in advance the vessel's course, having tracked the berthings of the vessel in ports and examining in advance the cargo manifest.
After confirming the ship's crew health was normal, the border inspection station immediately swung into action.
It handled the entry inspection procedures for the vessel and at the same time strengthened the management of the wharf and monitored the period when the ship remained in port.
This reduced the comings and goings of personnel and reportedly provided convenient conditions for the rapid unloading and transfer of the exhibits.
