Earthenware craftsmen who did not quit

When his fellow earthenware craftsmen in the Xinjiang village of Tutao all chose to quit the trade, Abudureheman was the only one who chose not to. “He told me that we can’t throw away the crafts that have lasted for generations,” says his son, who is learning the craft from his father. “Inheriting the skills for making traditional ethnic crafts is the responsibility of earthenware craftsmen,” he says.
