The accelerator complex is located in the south of Zhangjiang Science City, adjacent to the Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences and the Pudong campus of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, which is also under construction.

The project when finished will comprise eight buildings on a site covering 24,000 square meters, with a total floorspace of 80,800 sq m. The medical device accelerators will focus on such cutting-edge fields as molecular diagnosis, high-value consumables, implant interventions, medical surgical robots and artificial intelligence devices. It's expected they will help enhance scientific research and development and the achievement transformation of innovative medical device products.

The new complex will be surrounded by many well-known domestic and international medical device enterprises, such as Siemens Healthineers, German medical equipment maker Draeger, Shanghai-based medical equipment producer MircoPort and Shanghai Listent Medical Tech Co Ltd – a leading Shanghai-based artificial cochlea manufacturer.
