“We can all sing a couple of lines,” says Nurgul, a terme singerfrom Xinjiang’s Habahe county, which is known as the home of terme. Terme is a form of folk art of the Kazak ethnic group. It has a history of more than 700 years and is protected as a national intangible cultural heritage item in China.
