Linping is a highland of intelligent manufacturing. It has two platforms, the national-level Linping Economic and Technological Development Zone and Linping New City. Moreover, the district has established a group of innovation incubation and industrial parks, such as the provincial biomedical high-tech park, the industrial internet town and the robot industrial park.

It is home to 628 industrial enterprises above a designated scale – those with annual sales of 20 million yuan ($3.1 million) or more – including 199 enterprises with revenue topping 100 million yuan per annum and 20 enterprises generating over 1 billion yuan. After years of development, it is said to have formed a characteristic and advantageous industrial layout dominated by high-end equipment, smart manufacturing, biomedicines and new materials.

In recent years, Linping has gradually upgraded its fashion and textiles industry, which is one of the traditional sectors in the district.

E-Fashion Town, a provincial characteristic town in the district, has gathered 30 top fashion designers and more than 800 fashion enterprises. It is the first national textiles and garment creative pilot park and is the permanent venue of the China Fashion Hangzhou Summit and the Asian Fashion Federation China Conference.

Furthermore, it has attracted a number of fashion innovation bodies such as the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Fashion College and the China National Apparel Technology & Innovation Institute, as well as a number of high-end shopping complexes.
