Linping district offers fun Asian-Games-themed activities

The Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is scheduled to be held in Hangzhou – capital of East China's Zhejiang province – from Sept 10 to 25 and to celebrate that, the city's Linping district recently held a raft of themed activities to raise people's awareness and their participation in the event.

First off, the district's Xingwang village, on Feb 26 held a fun creative drawing event.

Elsewhere, performers, wearing colorful traditional costumes and standing on stilts more than one meter high, held up promotional boards with messages about the games.

At Linping's Xingqiao sub-district, an English course opened recently. The course is being taught by Zhu Renwen, a retired middle school English teacher. So far, more than 20 locals have signed up for it. 

Focusing on the Hangzhou Asian Games, the course is seen as offering an easy way – by sharing the culture and etiquette of the Asian Games and English songs – for people who have little English vocabulary to learn common English conversations.
