The China Association for Science and Technology held a press conference on June 16 about the 24th Annual Meeting. Liu Yadong, director of the association's procedure committee office, answered questions from the media.
The meeting will be held at Changsha Beichen International Convention Center from June 26 to 27. It will include opening and closing ceremonies and 35 special activities focusing on the following themes: "self-improvement in science and technology helps build a new development landscape”, “'Innovation China’ drives the rising of central China” and “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals lead the green development”, “opening up and cooperation attract innovative talents” and “serving the people wholeheartedly”. The meeting will be co-hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and Hunan Provincial People's Government.

Liu noted that this annual meeting will highlight innovation, gathering talents and using science and technology for the people. It will lead science and technology workers to implement the new development philosophy, major national development strategies as well as Hunan's "Three Highlands and Four New Missions" strategy.
The annual meeting will invite around 100 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and top domestic experts, around 100 local branches of the China Association for Science and Technology, around 100 universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises. It will use the resources of “Innovation China” to organize academicians and experts to give suggestions to Hunan Province on how to proceed with Industry-University-Research for fueling the innovative development. It aims to attract high-level scientific and technological talents to promote resource matchmaking and achieve transformation as well as energize industrial development.
