The "Experiencing China" · International Doctoral Student Forum & Silk Road Doctoral Forum was held by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and jointly undertaken by the China University of Geosciences (CUG) and the Committee on Education Management of International Students affiliated with the Hubei Education Association for International Exchanges on June 18, 2022.

The forum brought together outstanding international doctoral students from Shanghai, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Wuhan cities both in-person and via video link to deliver their thematic reports.

During the offline group discussions, representatives of international doctoral students in China held academic exchanges on different topics in a move to foster a fine academic environment, expand their horizons, enrich personal knowledge in relevant fields, and unleash new ideas in scientific and technological research.

Since 2015, the CSC has organized international students funded by Chinese government scholarships to take part in all types of academic exchanges, and social and voluntary service activities under the brand of "Experiencing China", so as to help them better understand the country and play a positive role in promoting people-to-people exchanges.

Over the past few years, the CUG has adhered to academic principles in the pursuit of academic excellence, rolled out a special program designed to further enhance the academic competence of international students, and has endeavored to build it into a leading destination for international students in the midst of their overseas studies.

Meanwhile, the CUG has held over 30 sessions of training programs at the Academic Services Center for International Students to help foreign students strengthen their academic exchanges and mutual assistance, master scientific methods in their research, and boost their academic literacy and competence.
