2022 Science & Technology Society Development Index report to be released

The 2022 Science & Technology Society Development Index report will be released at the World Forum on the Development and Governance for Science and Technology Societies. The report is produced based on the investigation and evaluation of science and technology societies around the world. It is one of the most important achievements of the World Forum on the Development and Governance for Science and Technology Societies.

The report has been published for three years since 2019. By carrying out theoretical research and on-site investigations and monitoring the development trend of global science and technology societies, the report showcases the significant contributions of science and technology societies in promoting technological innovation, pushing forward international communication and cooperation in science and technology, participating in the global governance of science and technology and serving for the building of a Community of a Shared Future for Mankind, receiving wide attention from global scientific and technological circles. It is an important reference for government departments, social organizations, enterprises, scientists and technological workers to understand science and technology societies.

The report this year will include the Science & Technology Society Development Index(STSDI) for the first time. The index is created based on the 3D evaluation framework of “governance, leading and influence” by using neural network algorithms and analytic hierarchy processes to determine index weight. The report covers more than 3,000 science and technology societies in over 70 countries and regions around the world, trying to examine the development status of global science and technology societies more scientifically and accurately.

The report will also include the rankings of global six-star and five-star science and technology societies, as well as more than 30 sub-rankings for regions, disciplines and membership.
