The Jinqiao 5G industrial park located in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was launched in 2020 and serves as the only 5G industrial park in the city, supporting and empowering enterprises to boost the development of the superfast technology and intelligent manufacturing.
The park has attracted five innovation centers, which are sponsored by Huawei Technologies, China Mobile’s Shanghai branch, CAICT, SAIC Motor and Alibaba, respectively.
It has also attracted more than 60 enterprises and projects, including Xiaomi technology and the Global Times.
Leading enterprises gathering together have brought favorable effect for the research and development of products in the park where cooperation is sparkled.
A well-equipped industrial chain provides opportunities for enterprises, especially those making chips, cars and spare parts, to cooperate and grow, said Shen Xiaoyan, deputy manager of the Industrial Internet Innovation Center (Shanghai).
Jinqiao highlights the development in three powerful industries -- future motors, intelligent manufacturing and mass video communications.
In September, the first open road test for autonomous driving in the central urban area was officially opened in Jinqiao.
Under the support of giants in the communications industry, companies in the park have enjoyed an increase of productivity from 30 percent to 200 percent. At the same time, in the 5G+ mass video communications industry, new media applications including Cloud AR/VR are being built.
