CUG celebrates its 70th anniversary
On Nov 7th, the 70th anniversary celebration of the China University of Geosciences (CUG) was held in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province.

CUG, founded in 1952, is a national key university affiliated with the Ministry of Education. It is also listed in the National “211 Project” and the “Double First-class Plan”.
CUG, featuring geosciences, is a comprehensive university that also offers a variety of degree programs in science, engineering, literature, management, economics, law, education and the arts. Its Geology and Geological Resources & Engineering have both been ranked as national number one disciplines.
For 70 years, CUG has trained more than 300,000 high-quality graduates across multiple fields, including an elite group of scientists, officials, educationalists, and sportsmen. Among these graduates, 40 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering make up the school's proud representatives.
Sun Yao, vice-minister of education, and Shao Xinyu, vice governor of Hubei province, both delivered speeches.

During the celebration, the school received more than 300 congratulatory letters and blessing videos from sister colleges, local governments, strategic cooperation units and alumni.
