The World Internet Conference (WIC) Representative Symposium was held on Nov 8, in Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province.
On the meeting, Zhang Chaoyang, founder, chairman and CEO of Sohu, said Sohu, as a web content producer and online service provider, produces high-quality content and advocates healthy themes online.
As livestreaming programs and short videos increase in popularity, Sohu Video has stepped up to build a knowledge-sharing livestreaming platform covering science, education, health, culture and other fields, and provide diversified options for online learners. It also invites science experts to share their expertise in their own specific programs, according to him.
Zhang said that he joined such science popularization programs last November. Since then, he has been teaching physics via livestreaming at 12:00 every Friday and Sunday, and has given a hundred lessons so far.
Livestreaming and short videos provide a new mode by which to spread knowledge. It also creates public benefit by attracting more science livestreamers to share scientific knowledge and promote national learning for a better society, he said.
