The Pudong Zhangjiang and Jinqiao industrial cluster area for future automobiles was launched on Nov 8 at the 2022 Zhangjiang Automotive Semiconductor Ecosystem Summit and Global Automotive Electronics Exchange Meeting.

The industrial cluster area, covering the northwestern part of Zhangjiang, Shanghai Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Industrial Park and Jinqiao Development Zone, will combine Zhangjiang's chip and artificial intelligence technologies with Jinqiao's whole-vehicle and supporting resources, in an attempt to expand Pudong's advantages in the future automobile industry, form a complete industrial chain and foster an auto cluster with the most advanced technologies and diversified categories in the country.

According to Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, the park will focus on policy support, public service platforms and application scenarios to develop the cluster.

In addition to emphasis on targeted policies for industry support, the park plans to build a vehicle chip testing service platform to provide companies with local cost-effective testing services and support the upstream and downstream industry chains.

Meanwhile, Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park will boost linkage among chip enterprises, system integration enterprises and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to deepen industrial integration.

Zhangjiang will also utilize Jinqiao's 29.3-km auto-driving testing road to offer OEMs and solution providers more efficient testing scenarios.

The Automotive Semiconductor Ecosystem Summit aimed to strengthen the communication between OEMs and semiconductor companies, optimize Pudong's auto ecosystem and speed up the development of the future automobile industry in Pudong.
