China Eye Valley Expo Center opens

The expo center of China Eye Valley, a high-end platform focusing on the development of ophthalmology, opened on Nov 11, local media outlets reported.

The opening ceremony was a sideline event of the 2022 World Young Scientist Summit, which took place in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 12-13.

The center, which is located at the entrance of the Wenzhou International Airport in Longwan district, consists of a range of exhibition areas, a new product release center, a financial service center, and several seminar rooms in the 16,700-square-meter space.

The China Eye Valley was jointly developed by the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and the Longwan district government.

Since it began operating in June 2020, the industrial park has brought in 166 sci-tech enterprises, 27 enterprise research institutes, and 67 financing institutions. Global top 500 brands such as Huawei and China Resources opened new branches in the valley this year, and listed enterprises and industrial leaders such as ZSM, KingMed Diagnostics, OcuMension, and Vivo Optics began operating there.

At the launch ceremony, the valley also announced it will kick off construction on a national innovation base. The base will focus on technological services and trade and strive to integrate talent, technologies, and services.

"The valley is playing a pivotal role in integrating the sci-tech and innovative resources of the global ophthalmology industry," said Zhou Yifu, Party secretary of Longwan district.
