These Wenzhou Daily newspapers, published from May 1, 1980 to Dec 31, 2022, will make for important historical documents for teachers and students at the university. As an alumnus of Wenzhou University, Wang used the donation as a gift for the 90th anniversary of the founding of his alma mater.
Wang took up the hobby of reading newspapers at his primary school, inspired by one of his teachers. He sees old newspapers as invaluable assets. According to Wang Xiaokang, his youngest daughter, the whole family rescued the newspapers by moving them to the second floor during a typhoon in 1994, while other people ran for their lives.
