The third Shanghai Coffee Culture Week, which will be held from May 20 to June 2, will feature a series of consumer-themed activities, industry forums, and exhibitions, according to a news conference held in the city on May 10.

The love that Shanghai residents have for coffee is evident based on data released by Meituan, a leading online food delivery platform. According to Meituan, the annual number of users who order coffee in Shanghai is nearly 3 million, while the transaction volume of the beverage is the highest in the country.

"There is a new phenomenon this year. Shanghai people drink coffee at any time. The peak period lasts from 7 am to 10 pm, and even at 11 pm, there are still people ordering coffee," said Zhang Ying, senior director of public affairs at Meituan, at the conference.

At this year's Coffee Culture Week, large-scale coffee-themed lifestyle markets will be held simultaneously in Xuhui's West Bund area, Xintiandi in Huangpu district, and Daxue Road in Yangpu district.

In addition, 80 bookstores in the city will offer discounts for their coffee and organize coffee tastings and other coffee-related activities.
