On June 18, nine expat students from Shandong First Medical University went on a fascinating field trip. They visited the Polygonatum Culture Museum, the Polygonatum Smart Factory and the Taishan Immune Health Life Museum – all situated on Tianping Street, in the Daiyue district of Tai'an city, in East China's Shandong province.
There, they appreciated the mysteries of Mount Tai's Polygonatum culture, as well as the strong modern-day industrial development and advanced digital technology for Polygonatum – the herb used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of coughs, dizziness and lung trouble.
As a result, they gained an invaluable insight into the interaction between history and modern technology. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
