According to the statistics from Shanghai Pudong International Airport Customs, the export of cross-border e-commerce goods from Shanghai airport grew rapidly from January to July this year.

Statistics showed that 220 million cross-border e-commerce packages worth 47.3 billion yuan ($6.5 billion), year-on-year increases of 2.3 times and 2.7 times respectively, were declared for export during this period.

The top three export markets were the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, and the exports to these three countries were worth 23.2 billion yuan, 4.2 billion yuan, and 3 billion yuan respectively. The exported goods were mainly consumer goods such as clothing, toys, and decorations.

In light of the robust growth of cross-border e-commerce exports, Shanghai Customs has been taking steps to streamline customs procedures and speed up customs clearance.

Song Ge, an official of Pudong Airport Customs, said they have been exploring innovative ways to optimize supervision processes to establish secure and efficient cross-border e-commerce retail export return channels for small and medium-sized sellers.
